Climbing the Holy 18 steps (Sri Ponnu Pathinettaam Padi)

Please note that no one without Irumudi should climb or allowed to climb the Holy 18 steps.
Irumudi should be placed in the heads and held with one hand.
A coconut should be broken near the bottom before ascending the steps.
Kanni swamys will be allowed to climb the steps first, then followed by the others
Please do not rush and take care of kids as they climb along with you.
Keep Swamy in mind and pay ‘namaskarams’ to every step as you ascend them
Once you reach the top of 18 steps, take a good ‘darshan’ of Swamy
Follow instructions and group for 'pradakshinam' inside the temple and place Irumudis in the collection spot.
Start unpacking the Irumudi and hand over the items as requested by the volunteers
Retain a handful of rice, and one coconut (for descending Holy steps) in the Irumudi. All other items should be handed over to volunteers.
Keep the Irumudi bag, small coconut bag, and the irumudi towel safe, you will need it next year.
