It is a reverence that old timers use the same irumudi bag year after year. So please wash the irumudi bag, small coconut bag, and irumudi towel the day before.
For newcomers, these will be provided by SAASTHAA on irumudi day.
If family members are not able to take part in the irumudi kattu function, then ask each family member to add 3 small handfuls of rice in a small ziploc bag and bring that with you on the day of irumudi.
Wear washed dhotis, angavasthrams and towels.
Traditionally, we break coconut before leaving the house and head towards temple, without seeing the house after breaking the coconut. Here breaking the coconut is not followed due to some community restrictions and other factors. Instead, perform regular pooja at home, show Karpooram(Camphor) Aarthi to Ayyappa and show the same Aarthi in front of your main door and leave the house, without seeing back. Do not talk to family members until you leave.
We have many irumudis to be prepared and cannot start the yaathirai until all irumudis are done, so PLEASE be there on time and be patient, we want to ensure a spiritually satisfying experience to everyone.
